Create partners, read health and direction, and navigate the partner detail page
The partners list
Open Partners in the sidebar. The page title is "Partners" with the subheading "Alliance organizations and GSI hierarchy." Each row shows:
- Name — child partners are indented under their parent with a ↳ marker
- Types — the partner's motion tags as chips
- Direction — a composite trend pill (improving, stable, or worsening)
- Relationship — the raw relationship signal pill, or "—"
- Pipeline — open pipeline like "$120k · 4 opps", or "No active pipeline"
- Execution — like "3 projects / 2 on track", or "No active projects"
Direction, Relationship, Pipeline, and Execution are sortable — click the header to sort, click again to reverse. The filter row supports a name search and filters for direction, primary type, and relationship signal. A link such as Partners?relationship=cooling pre-filters to cooling relationships (used by the dashboard tiles).
If you have no partners yet, you'll see "No partners yet" with buttons to add one or import your partner list.
Add or edit a partner
From the list, click Add partner (/partners/new). The form is the same for create and edit:
- Name (required) — saving triggers company-name matching against known companies
- Types — checkboxes: GSI, Reseller, BPO, ISV, Hyperscaler, Technology, Other
- Parent partner (optional) — link to a parent GSI, e.g. Deloitte → Deloitte Digital
- Website — Triad auto-prefixes
https://if you omit it - Description and Notes
- Revenue target (FY) — appears on the edit form only (and is inline-editable on the detail page). It feeds the scorecard's revenue dimension; leave blank for no target.
If the name closely matches a known company, Triad asks: "This looks like [company]. Link it so news fetch is shared across workspaces?" Linking lets the partner news feed share fetched articles across workspaces tracking the same company. Choose "No, treat as separate" if it's genuinely a different entity.
Creating a partner automatically kicks off a 30-day news backfill for that partner, so signals begin appearing within a day or two.
The partner detail page
The header shows the partner name, its type badges, and action buttons: Capture activity, Generate QBR, Brief Me, Partnership Scorecard, and a "⋯" menu (Edit, and Delete for admins).
The hero band shows three tiles: Open pipeline (partner-credited share, not full deal value), Closed this year (with progress toward the FY target if set), and Relationship signal (direction pill plus score). If the partner has two or more types, a motion lens bar appears that filters every metric, pipeline figure, and signal to a single motion — useful for partners who are, say, both a GSI and a Reseller.
The body is organized into a main column and a right rail:
- Main column: pipeline, recent activity, open next steps rollup, and partner contacts.
- Right rail: active projects, upcoming events, engaged accounts, Target accounts (segments marked as a Target Account List, with a 90-day coverage bar), top signals, segments, and recent QBRs.
- Below the grid: the full signals section, events (Upcoming / Past), a Discovery section (accounts with activity but no pipeline or projects yet), internal contacts working the partner, your team assignments, sub-entities, and a details card.
Hierarchy and sub-entities
Partners can nest. Set a Parent partner on the form, or from a partner page use Add sub-entity (which opens the new-partner form with the parent pre-linked). The "Part of" section shows the parent link when one exists. Hierarchy roots are what the Relationship Map's coverage matrix is built from.
Common gotchas
"Direction" and "Relationship signal" measure different things and can disagree. Direction is a composite of relationship and delivery trends; Relationship signal is the raw Read the Room signal (tightening/loosening/stable). Seeing one improving while the other cools is expected, not a bug.
The Open pipeline tile reflects each partner's credited share. A deal credited to two partners at full value contributes to both — this matches Salesforce influence convention and is intentional.
The motion lens bar only appears for partners with two or more types. Target accounts only appear once a segment is explicitly marked as a Target Account List — simply linking a segment to a partner isn't enough.
FAQ
Why are my partner's pipeline and signal tiles empty?
Pipeline needs linked opportunities; the relationship signal needs captured activities. Both fill in as you capture work and import or create opportunities. A brand-new partner will look sparse until then.
What's the difference between primary type and the other types?
A partner can carry several type tags. The first (or the one marked primary) drives badges and the default motion view. The motion lens lets you slice the page by any single type the partner carries.
Can members delete partners?
No. Edit is available to everyone, but deleting a partner is admin-only.
