Opportunities and partner credit

Track partner-connected pipeline and split co-sell credit across partners

Opportunities are deals on your accounts, optionally linked to one or more partners with a credit split. They feed the dashboard pipeline tiles, partner pipeline rollups, and the scorecard's pipeline dimension.

The opportunities list

Open Opportunities in the sidebar (subheading: "Pipeline across your partner-connected accounts"). Columns are Opportunity, Account, Partners (chips, with "+N more" overflow), Amount, Stage, and Close date. Account, Amount, Stage, and Close date are sortable. A credit-variance badge appears next to deals where partner credits don't add up: Over-credited (red) when credits exceed the amount, Under-credited (amber) when they fall short.

Create or edit an opportunity

From the list, New opportunity (/opportunities/new). Fields:

  • Name (required)
  • Account (required) — autocomplete; you can create a new account inline from the bottom of the list
  • Amount — commas are fine; stored as a number
  • Stage — free text, stored as your CRM stage (you can standardize labels later via Opportunity stages)
  • Close date
  • Partners (optional) — attach one or more partners and set per-partner credit, with Equal split and Normalize to 100% helpers
  • Notes

Validation includes "Name is required.", "Account is required.", "Amount must be a valid number.", and "Partner credit amounts must be >= 0."

Partner credit and co-sell

Partners attach to an opportunity through credit links, not a single field on the deal. Each link carries an optional credit amount and a motion. If you leave a partner's credit blank, Triad splits credit equally across the linked partners. When multiple partners are linked and the deal has an amount, Triad computes each partner's credited share and flags variance if the credits don't sum to the deal total.

This is why a deal can appear in two partners' pipeline tiles at the same time — each sees their credited share, matching how Salesforce influence works.

The opportunity detail page

The detail page shows the partners with their credited amount and percentage, the deal team (contacts and their roles, editable inline), the most recent linked project, the full activity history for the deal, and notes. The right rail shows the linked account and recent signals from the linked partners. Header actions are Capture activity (pre-filled with the deal's partner and account), Brief me, and the "⋯" menu (Edit; Delete for admins).

Common gotchas

Stage is stored exactly as you enter it. If your CRM uses ambiguous labels like "0. Closed" that mean "won," map them explicitly under Settings → Opportunity stages so pipeline math classifies them correctly.

Credit variance badges are a prompt, not an error — they tell you the credit split doesn't match the deal amount. Use Equal split or Normalize to 100% in the editor to align them, or leave them if the variance is intentional.

FAQ

Why does the same deal show under two partners?

Because credit is split. Each partner's pipeline reflects their credited share of the deal, so a co-sell deal legitimately appears for every partner credited on it.

Do I have to attach a partner?

No — partners are optional on an opportunity. But linking partners is what connects the deal to partner pipeline and scorecards, so attach them when a partner is involved.

Can I bulk-import pipeline?

Yes. Import opportunities via CSV. If the same deal appears on multiple rows for multiple partners, the import will ask whether the rows represent a pre-split credit allocation or the deal repeated per partner.
