Next steps
See everything you owe across partnerships, sorted by what's most overdue
The Next Steps page is your single to-do view across every partnership — bilateral commitments captured on activities, sorted so the most overdue surfaces first.
The next steps page
Open Next Steps in the sidebar (subheading: "Everything you owe across your partnerships, sorted by what's most overdue"). A counter line reads, for example, "12 open · 3 overdue," with the overdue count in red.
Filters are chip toggles:
- Due — All, Overdue, Due today, Due this week
- Owner — Mine, Owned by us, Owned by partner, Unassigned, plus an owner search box
- Partner — one chip per partner that has open steps in the current view
When the Due filter is "All," steps group under Overdue / Due this week / Later / No due date headers. Pick a specific Due filter and you get a flat sorted list instead.
Each row shows a completion checkbox, the step text, the owner, the partner, the account or context, a due-date pill, and a "View activity →" link back to where the step was captured.
Completing and reopening
Click a row's checkbox to mark it complete; click again to reopen it — completion is reversible. Completed steps are struck through, and the page footer notes how many you've closed in the last seven days.
Where next steps come from
Next steps are always created on an activity — either in Capture during review, or in the manual Log activity form, or when editing an activity. There's no standalone "new next step" button; the Next Steps page is purely for viewing and completing them.
Common gotchas
Because next steps live on activities, the way to add one is to log or edit the relevant activity. If a step is wrong, open its source activity (via "View activity →") and edit it there — but remember that removing a step in the activity edit form deletes it permanently.
The Mine filter only appears when you're signed in and matches steps owned by you (by linked contact or user). If you don't see it, your login may not be linked to an internal contact yet — link it under Settings → Profile.
FAQ
How do I add a next step?
Capture or log an activity and add the step there, or edit an existing activity. The Next Steps page itself doesn't create steps.
Can I reopen something I completed by mistake?
Yes — click the checkbox again to reopen it.
Why don't I see a "Mine" filter?
It shows only when your login is linked to an internal contact. Link it in Settings → Profile so Triad knows which steps are yours.
