Events

Plan joint conferences, webinars, and field programs, and tie activity to them

Events track the real moments your partnerships happen around — conferences, webinars, executive roundtables, and field programs — so captured activity stays grounded in when and where it occurred.

The events list and calendar

Open Events in the sidebar (subheading: "Joint conferences, webinars, and field programs with partners"). Columns are Event, Type, When, End, Location, Status, Partners, and Actions. Filters cover partner, event type, and status. A view toggle switches between the list and the Calendar view (/events/calendar), which lays the same events out by date.

Add or edit an event

Click Add event (/events/new). Fields:

  • Name (required)
  • Event type (required) — Conference, Webinar, Executive Roundtable, Field Event, Joint Marketing, Customer Event, Enablement, Industry Event, or Other
  • Start date (required)
  • End date — leave blank for single-day events; must be on or after the start
  • Location — city, venue, or "virtual"
  • Description
  • Partners — checklist of partners co-hosting or participating
  • Participants — typeahead over your contacts; create new ones inline
  • Notes

Status is not something you set — it's calculated from the dates (see below).

Event status is automatic

The status badge is computed from today's date versus the event's start and end:

  • Planning — start date is more than ~32 days out (or no start date)
  • Upcoming — start date is within ~32 days but hasn't arrived
  • Active — today falls on or between start and end
  • Completed — today is past the end date

The event detail page

The detail page shows notes, activities grouped into Before / During / After event, next steps, and linked opportunities. The right rail lists participants, Partners engaged, Accounts engaged, and recent partner signals. Header actions are Capture activity (pre-filled with the event) and Brief me.

Common gotchas

There's an important nuance about partners. The Partners checklist on the event form records the partners directly invited to co-host (shown in the list's Partners column). The detail page's Partners engaged rail, by contrast, is derived from the activities actually captured against the event. A partner you listed but never captured activity with may not appear as "engaged."

Deleting an event is admin-only; editing is open to all members.

FAQ

Why can't I set the event status?

Status is derived from the dates so it's always accurate. Adjust the start and end dates and the badge follows.

How do I tie meetings to an event?

Use Capture activity from the event page — it pre-links the activity to the event. Captured activity then groups into Before / During / After on the event detail.

What's the difference between listed partners and engaged partners?

Listed partners are the ones you selected on the form as co-hosts. Engaged partners are the ones you've actually captured activity with at the event. They can differ.
