Blast radius and the evidence model

See how much open exposure rides on one partner person, and why an account counts as theirs or not

See one person's blast radius

Open any partner contact. A Blast radius section appears on the contact page, below the header. Internal contacts do not have one — blast radius is about your dependence on partner people.

The Blast radius panel shows the total open exposure riding on this person, across the accounts they are confirmed on and the open deals at those accounts. Expand Evidence for the confirmed account count, open deal count, open exposure amount, when they were last in a logged conversation, how many accounts are mentioned-only, and their employer partner.

The Single-threaded panel counts the confirmed accounts where this person is the only contact from their employer partner with a confirmed relationship. It turns amber when that is more than half their accounts. If your only relationship at an account is one person, and that person changes jobs, you have no second thread at that account.

Open exposure on a confirmed account includes deals this person is on, plus deals their employer partner is on at that account. Amounts are full deal value, not a credited slice.

The quiet banner

If the person has not been in a logged conversation for more than 90 days, an amber banner appears above the panels: "It has been N days since this person was in any logged conversation, and $X of open exposure rides on them." If they have never appeared in one, it says so instead.

This is the pairing worth acting on — real money, no recent contact.

Accounts in the radius

Below the panels, Accounts in the radius lists each account with its open amount, open deal count, when it was last touched, and a quiet chip if that was more than 90 days ago. Under each row, Triad states the reason the account counts, such as "assigned to the account," "contact on 2 opportunities," "owns 1 next step on this account," or "in 3 meetings about this account."

Accounts that did not clear the bar are listed separately, greyed out, each with a mentioned only chip and their amount struck through. The list says why: attending a conversation where an account came up is not a working relationship, so these are shown but not counted.

What makes an account count

An account is confirmed for a person when at least one of these is true:

  • They are assigned to the account — someone added them to the account team by hand
  • They are a contact on an opportunity at that account
  • They own a next step whose own context is that account
  • They were in a meeting about that account — they participated in an activity whose context for that account is marked About

An account is mentioned only when the person was auto-added from activity attendance, or the account only ever came up in a conversation they were in, and none of the four rules above is met.

Presence in a conversation is not a relationship. If you discuss six accounts in one call, everyone on that call does not become connected to all six.

Why an account you expected is missing, or shouldn't be there

Two controls decide most of this, and both live in Capture.

About vs Mentioned. On the Capture review screen, each context you attach has an About / Mentioned toggle, with the helper text "Mentioned means it came up but no work happened on it here." Marking a context About means the meeting was working on that account, and everyone in the room gets a confirmed edge to it. Marking it Mentioned means it was only referenced, and nobody gets an edge from it. If a person is showing up on accounts they have no real relationship with, the fix is usually to mark those contexts Mentioned.

Next step context. A next step confirms a person only on the account attached to that next step, not on every account discussed in the same meeting. If someone owns a follow-up about Account A in a call that also covered Accounts B and C, only Account A is confirmed by that next step.

To confirm an account deliberately, add the person to the account team by hand on the account page. Contacts added automatically carry a From activity chip on the account team, and those do not confirm anything on their own.

Nothing is deleted when evidence changes

Evidence is computed fresh every time you open the page, from what is in Triad right now. Triad does not store a judgment about whether a person "belongs" to an account. Correcting a context from About to Mentioned, or removing an opportunity contact, changes the blast radius on the next page load.

That also means the radius grows on its own as you capture more. A person who looks disconnected today can become confirmed on four accounts after a week of logged meetings.

Widest blast radius across the portfolio

To see who carries the most across all partners, open Analytics in the sidebar and look at the Widest blast radius card at the bottom of the Exposure section. It ranks partner people by open exposure, with their employer partner, deal count, and account count. See analytics-exposure.

Common gotchas

Internal contacts have no blast radius panel. It only renders for partner contacts.

A person with a large blast radius is not a problem by itself. The signal is a large radius combined with a quiet banner, or a high single-threaded count.

Open exposure includes deals their employer partner is on at a confirmed account, even if this specific person is not named on the deal. That is intentional: they are your thread into that account.

Mentioned-only accounts contribute nothing to the amount, the account count, or the single-threaded count. They are listed so you can see what Triad chose not to count.
